Financial waiver affidavit
A financial waiver affidavit (known legally as an in forma pauperis, or "In the manner of a pauper") is a legal document deliniating an individual's financial situation and asking for relief of some legal fee. In the affidavit the person has to answer questions about income from all sources, any owned property, and living expenses. People who meet the qualifications for assistance might get the legal authorities to assume responsibility for costs of court actions and other related costs such as inserting legal ads in newspapers.
For anyone whose financial situation is difficult, it is worth checking out this possibility as it can save money.
Standards for acceptance are often based on one or more or the following:
- Major assets
- Average deposits from 6 months prior to filing
- Average monthly balance from 6 months prior to filing
- Average expenses of living
