Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Saint Lucia face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT persons. Homosexuality is illegal for males in Saint Lucia, though female homosexual acts are not mentioned. Saint Lucia was also the only UN member in the Americas to formally oppose the UN declaration on sexual orientation and gender identity.
