Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Saint Lucia face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT persons. Homosexuality is illegal for males in Saint Lucia, though female homosexual acts are not mentioned.[1] Saint Lucia was also the only UN member in the Americas to formally oppose the UN declaration on sexual orientation and gender identity.[2]
