Joi Sudela was a frequent contributor to our forums from 2015 until the time of her death. She had completed her GCS in early 2016 and was happily living life as herself. Unconfirmed information states that Joi passed away due to internal bleeding from an accident.

Obituary

Joi Michelle Sudela (68) passed away early in the morning on May 14th 2016 in Houston, TX. Born James Michael Sudela in Galveston, TX in 1947 to parents Vincent C. Sudela and Virginia C. Sudela, Joi was the oldest of their nine children together: Kathy, Virginia A., Thomas I, Joseph, Susan, Mark, Paul and recently deceased Mary Ellen. Joi also had an older brother Francis, her mother's first child. Joi lived in Pearland, Texas for most of her life, but was well traveled and versed in several languages. Honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1968, Joi went on to receive a master's degree in history from Sam Houston State University in 1973 and enthusiastically taught history in one form or another throughout the rest of her life. Joi was a loving father and is survived by her three sons: Vincent J. along with his significant other Ashley, and their soon to be born baby Brooklyn; Thomas II and daughter-in-law Leah, and their four children, Graylyn, Hayden, Bellatrix and Riker; Nicholas and his two children Shianne and Scarlett. Joi is also survived by their mother and wife of 37 years Elizabeth along with her son Jason, his wife Jean and daughter Maggie. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Joi will be held on May 29th at 2pm at the Pearland Lion's Club - 3350 S. Main St. Pearland, TX 77581.
